
Tuesday, May 12th at 11 am, US Department of Agriculture’s Crop Production report estimated in its first look at 2026 production for corn 15.995 billion bushels of corn and 4.435 billion bushels of soybeans. Both crops would be the second largest in history.
USDA estimates 95.338 million acres of corn and 84.7 million acres of soybeans.
Other crops are: canola, 2.685 million acres about 300 thousand acres more than last year. Sunflowers, 1.385 million about a hundred thousand acre increase over 2025.
Pulse crop acreage was lower for chickpeas and dry edible beans, slightly higher for peas and 250,000 fewer acres of lentils.
