OAKES, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Searches are still underway for a missing plane that failed to show up at Oakes Airport Wednesday night.

Brown County Emergency Manager Scott Meints reports that Brown County Sheriff’s Office, Emergency Management, Dickey County Sheriff’s Office, Aberdeen Regional Airport, SD Civil Air Patrol, ND Civil Air Patrol, Oakes Police Department, Oakes Fire Department, Ellendale Fire Department, and Ellendale Ambulance are all working on any tips they’ve received.

“Ground searches continued until dark Thursday night and have begun today, but are being hampered by weather conditions,” Meints says. “Any type of air searches have been grounded due to the winter storm and will commence again once weather allows.”
