Wahpeton all-state guard Brayden Steffens celebrated the next step in his basketball career Tuesday, signing with hometown NJCAA program North Dakota State College of Science.

Steffens, who averaged more than 19 points per game while posting efficient splits, is a dynamic guard with a vintage midrange jumper. Wahpeton’s all-time leading scorer is also an athletic finisher around the rim and a pesky presence on the defensive side.

Steffens helped lead the Huskies to consecutive Division “A” State Tournaments, averaging 19.7 points in three appearances this season at the Fargodome. He joins a Wildcat program fresh off a resurgent 26-6 campaign that culminated in a Region XIII runner-up finish.

Steffens was named KBMW Outstanding Winter Athlete for the 2025-26 season.
