
Fargo, ND (AgNews890.com) – Madeleine Smith has been named the new NDSU Extension Pesticide Specialist. She takes over for Andrew Thostenson, who recently retired after nearly 30 years at that position. Smith is originally from the UK. She got her BSc in Plant Science, Masters in Plant Breeding and Biotechnology and a PhD in Plant and Environmental Science in the UK. She also spent time with Texas A&M and the University of Minnesota working with Plant Diseases. The last almost 5 years Smith was the NDSU Extension agent for Pembina County.
