
Fargo, ND (AgNews890) – North Dakota Ag Commissioner Doug Goehring appeared on Farm Talk with Erick Johnson on Wednesday and gave an update on the aftermath of the recent wildfires in western ND. He said that there still making assessments, saying “there’s so much to assess there…houses, barnyards, barns, corals… things were destroyed, peoples lives were destroyed”. Goehring went on to say that ranchers are still trying to account for missing cattle. He said some livestock in that Badlands area took off as the fire approached. He said ranchers are now looking for there carcass or live cattle.
Goehring said that the “Hay Hotline” is still active on the North Dakota Department of Agriculture website. He said, because of the drought in western ND in general there is still a need for hay.
