FARGO, N.D. (July 30, 2020) – The Northern Crops Institute (NCI) recently held the first installment of its four-part Fullfat Soybean Meal Webinar series. This month’s webinar was titled “Feeding Fullfat Soybean Meal to Swine”.
Over 100 attendees participated in the live webinar, which brought together people from around the globe to discuss the nuances and implications of feeding fullfat soybean meal to swine.
The webinar also provided attendees the opportunity to learn from industry experts as well as the authors of the Northern Crops Institute Fullfat Soybean Meal Handbook.
Presentations were given by Kim Koch, Ph.D., Bob Thaler, Ph.D., Dave Albin, Ph.D. and Matthew Clark. Each gave fresh insights on how and why to feed fullfat soybean meal to swine. Dr. Koch presented on heat treatments and digestibility. Dr. Thaler discussed the nutritional impact that feeding fullfat soybean meal to swine can have. Next, Dr. Albin went over processing methods. Finally, Clark presented on nutrient value and formulating swine diets using fullfat soybean meal.
Dr. Koch, NCI Feed Production Center Manager and one of the speakers had this to say about the webinar:
