The Minnesota Public Utilities Commission  has approved a route permit for Summit Carbon Solutions’ CO2 pipeline. The 28-mile pipeline project was passed on Thursday Dec. 12th., and would be the first in the state of its kind.

The Minnesota portion of the pipeline would capture the gas from the Green Plains Ethanol Plant in Fergus Falls and transport it to the North Dakota border.

The approval however is contingent upon the pipeline receiving all necessary permits, but also beginning construction of the pipeline in other states.
