Women have an opportunity to learn how to become better business partners in their farm or ranch operation during North Dakota State University Extension’s Inspired by Annie’s Project: Women’s Marketing Seminar, which will be held Dec. 6 at NDSU’s Richard H. Barry Hall in Fargo.

“This class is open to women across the state who want to learn more about agriculture-specific commodity marketing,” says Alicia Harstad, an NDSU Extension agent in Stutsman County.

“We will be discussing the basics of commodity marketing using live trade simulations during trade hours, plus analyzing the close of a trade day,” says Penny Nester, the NDSU Extension agent in Kidder County.

“There will be plenty of time for questions, sharing, reacting and connecting with presenters and fellow participants,” Harstad adds. “It’s a relaxed, fun and dynamic way to learn, grow and meet other North Dakota farm/ranch women.”

Annie’s Project is a national program that was introduced in North Dakota in 2006. Courses have reached more than 9,000 farm and ranch women in 33 states. Inspired by Annie’s Project programs build on one of the five areas of risk management covered in a local class. Stutsman and Kidder counties hosted Annie’s Project classes in 2019.

The cost for the course is $20 per person. The seminar will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. CST. The fee includes materials and lunch. The course size is limited to the first 25 registrants, so register soon.

To register, contact Harstad at 701-252-9030 or alicia.harstad@ndsu.edu. For more information on Annie’s Project, visit http://www.anniesproject.org.
